Location: Tokyo-Akasaka Biz Tower 30
Role summary:
FTSE Russell’s Index Sales Team in Japan is seeking a commercial minded candidate who will help expand usage of index related products in Japan. This sales position will require one to help expand both data and asset-based revenues of our business, spanning across our FTSE Russell indices to benchmark rates to FTSE ESG data.
This role will also demand relationship and account management across wide range of clients, including but not limited to asset owners, asset managers, sell-side brokers, and distribution partners
What you'll be doing:
Drive new sales of FTSE Russell Indexes, by identifying new opportunities within current clients or new prospects
Establish and maintain client relationships by engaging with clients on day-to-day basis. Fully own client accounts and have understanding of client contracts, key users, and business requirements
Become a trusted specialist on market trends and clients’ requirements - have knowledge of clients' businesses, problems, and future development goals
Engage with clients and prospects in offering innovative, tailored, and/or jointly developed Index solutions, making use of products and solutions across the group as well as any industry/market changes
Support regional sales leader on business development initiatives to generate new revenue
Own revenue targets and sales pipeline. Be well-adapted in revenue forecasting and updating CRM system
Communicate and coordinate with internal partners when required – across product development, research, commercial policy, finance, marketing, legal, or client services – in order to service clients on existing or new product development as well as cross-selling opportunities across LSEG group
Be on top of competitor landscape wherever possible—maintain information in structured and orderly manner
Understand the value of our services and reflect them when discussing commercial terms with end clients
What you'll bring:
5 years+ experience of proven track record in sales / new business development within the financial services industry
Strong understanding of investment management process and ecosystem, both domestically and globally, across multiple asset-classes
Knowledge on active and passive index fund strategies as well as use-cases in Japan
Solid networking and existing client relationships
Collaborator who can proactively work with other colleagues
Strong sense of ownership and servicing approach
Value and solutions-based selling experience
Eager to learn and ability to learn faster in a high-pressure environment
Strong desire to explore greater personal growth
Business level proficiency in Japanese and English
