Job Description
VPII Product Management, Identity Access Management (IAM)
Location: San Diego
As VPII Product Management for the Identity and Access Management (IAM) product area, you will lead the product strategy, multi-year roadmap, and organizational product direction for IAM capabilities that enable secure, seamless access experiences across the firm. This role sits within LPL’s product organization and is accountable for shaping enterprise IAM product outcomes through close partnership with technology, cybersecurity, operations, risk, and business stakeholders. You will drive strategic alignment, investment priorities, and cross-functional execution to deliver scalable IAM solutions that improve user experience, strengthen controls, and advance enterprise priorities.
This leader will also play a key role in building and maturing the product management function supporting the IAM domain, including establishing product management standards, operating rhythms, talent strategy, and organizational capabilities required to scale product support over time.
The ideal candidate brings deep product management leadership experience, strong enterprise platform expertise, and a proven ability to translate complex business, user, risk, and technical needs into a clear strategy, prioritized roadmap, and measurable business outcomes. This person is expected to operate as a senior product leader, influencing across organizational boundaries and helping shape how product management is practiced within the IAM domain and across the broader enterprise product organization.
Responsibilities:
Define and evolve the IAM product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap in alignment with business priorities, user needs, risk considerations, and technology strategy.
Own strategic product direction for the IAM domain, including prioritization of major initiatives, platform evolution, modernization efforts, and long-term investment choices.
Partner closely with engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, operations, and business stakeholders to translate strategy into executable plans, delivery milestones, and measurable outcomes.
Lead prioritization across features, enhancements, platform capabilities, and modernization initiatives based on user feedback, business value, operational impact, risk reduction, and enterprise objectives.
Provide leadership oversight for product delivery and releases by ensuring strong planning, readiness, dependency management, stakeholder communication, and post-release inspection processes that support successful execution and adoption.
Monitor product performance, adoption, control outcomes, and delivery results, using data and stakeholder feedback to assess impact, inform roadmap tradeoffs, and improve product outcomes over time.
Drive alignment across the firm on IAM product vision, priorities, dependencies, success metrics, and sequencing, resolving ambiguity and competing priorities across stakeholder groups.
Lead development of business cases, investment proposals, and strategic product communications for senior executives and key governance stakeholders.
Build and scale the IAM product management capability, including defining organizational responsibilities, product operating practices, governance, and ways of working that improve execution, transparency, and stakeholder alignment.
Lead, coach, and develop product talent across the IAM domain, strengthening product management discipline and building a high-performing team and leadership bench over time.
Stay current on IAM market trends, emerging technologies, regulatory considerations, and industry best practices to ensure product strategy remains forward-looking and aligned to external change.
Partner with technology and control stakeholders to ensure IAM capabilities meet appropriate standards for performance, resiliency, accessibility, interoperability, and control effectiveness.
Represent the IAM product area with senior leaders across the firm, influencing decisions on priorities, sequencing, funding, risk tradeoffs, and enterprise platform direction.
What We’re Looking For:
We are looking for a senior product leader who can bring clarity to complex enterprise challenges and drive solutions that balance user experience, security, scalability, risk management, and business value. The right candidate is customer-focused, highly collaborative, comfortable operating in a matrixed environment, and able to drive enterprise progress across cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Success in this role requires strong judgment, structured thinking, executive presence, and the ability to influence stakeholders across product, technology, cybersecurity, risk, operations, and business teams. This person should be comfortable leading through strategy and execution, supporting delivery through release cycles while also building a stronger, more scalable product organization around IAM over time.
Requirements:
10+ years of product management experience building and managing digital products, platforms, or technology-enabled services, including substantial experience in enterprise environments.
Experience defining product strategy and owning roadmaps for enterprise platforms, shared capabilities, or complex internal-facing products.
Experience leading product delivery through release planning, readiness, launch coordination, and post-release evaluation at scale.
Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, architecture, security, operations, risk, and business stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Demonstrated ability to build, scale, or lead product management practices, teams, and organizational capabilities within a domain or product area.
Strong ability to define problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and make data-informed prioritization decisions across competing stakeholder needs and enterprise constraints.
Proven ability to lead through influence and deliver outcomes in a highly matrixed environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting strategies, roadmaps, business cases, and recommendations to senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
Experience leading, coaching, and developing product managers or related product talent.
Preferences:
Experience in Identity and Access Management, cybersecurity, enterprise platforms, or adjacent domains.
Familiarity with IAM concepts such as authentication, authorization, identity lifecycle management, access governance, federation, SSO, MFA, privileged access, and directory services.
Experience with IAM platforms and tooling such as ForgeRock, Okta, Ping, Microsoft Entra ID, or similar solutions.
Experience hiring, mentoring, or developing product managers in an enterprise environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Pay Range:
$172,010.00 - $286,649.00
