We are currently looking to hire a RBT Training Specialist for our Norther Region (Carmel and West Lafayette). The RBT Training Specialist is responsible for the delivery and documentation of initial training for all LittleStar trainees and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs).
In this role, the candidate will enhance the capabilities of employees by helping to design and conduct training programs that boost employee performance in aligning with LittleStar’s mission and vision. This includes assessing training needs as well as the design and delivery of training curriculum.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver initial training to allow trainees to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
- Collaborate across departments to ensure smooth onboarding for new trainees and expedite transition into the RBT position
- Assist trainees with applying for certification with the BACB and testing with Pearson Vue
- Assist with initial and renewal RBT competency assessments
- Administer, score, and provide feedback on mock exams
- Provide individual coaching to trainees, as needed
- Provide support and coaching to trainer RBTs to facilitate effective Behavior Skills Training (BST)
- Maintain accurate records of trainee progression through training
- Reserve and prepare necessary audiovisual equipment and training rooms; schedule training times with attendees; and prepare and distribute training aids such as handouts
- Conduct regular audits and provide feedback to RBTs regarding session notes and documentation.
- Assist the RBT Training Director to facilitate the coordination and tracking of CPR/First Aid training for all clinical staff, as needed.
- Conduct CPR skills evaluations, as needed
- Assist with CDI training, as needed
- Assist with training projects as assigned by the RBT Training Director and Vice President of Compliance and Training
- Maintains client, family and employee confidentiality per LS policy and HIPAA Privacy Rule Regulations.

Educational Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in ABA, Psychology, Education or related field required
- 2 years + of prior experience conducting ABA Therapy with individuals with autism
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) required
- Current CPR/Basic First Aid certification and skill evaluator certification
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Positive team player and energetic professional
- Ability to design and implement effective training
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills along with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Good judgment and creative thinking skills
- Ability to communicate appropriately given the circumstances of the situation and individuals involved
- Ability to learn and manage electronic learning management systems
- Adept with a variety of audiovisual, multimedia training platforms and methods
- Experience with supervising others and providing performance feedback on their performance
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite and related program software; Relias experience preferred.
Condition of Employment
- Must successfully pass the initial and updated criminal history, background, and record checks, which includes driving history checks.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This position is based in the Northern region of Indiana and will support the locations of Carmel and West Lafayette. This position operates in a professional office environment with an office site located in either the Carmel or West Lafayette center. This role routinely uses standard office and audiovisual equipment.
This position may be eligible for telecommuting per the telecommuting policy depending on organizational needs and at supervisor’s discretion.
