Job Description
Summary: LINX LLC is the leading provider of high-quality network cabling, design, and installation services across the region. The Low Voltage Wiring Technician is responsible for all onsite delivery, implementation, service and support of wiring needs for customers, focusing on low voltage wiring technology.
Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with industry standards
- Build, install, and maintain MDFs and IDFs, including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware, while troubleshooting low voltage cable systems
- Perform cable pulling, suspension, fireproofing, termination, and testing in accordance with BICSI standards, NEC, and local regulations to ensure safety and compliance
- Deliver exceptional customer service, maintain professionalism and strong communication skills to resolve technical issues and provide solutions
- Ensure high-quality, organized, and professional workmanship on all installations to meet project specifications and exceed customer expectations
- Travel to job sites anywhere within your state
Required Qualifications:
- 0-2,000 hours commercial low voltage installation experience
- Must be able to work on ladders and use power tools; ability to lift/carry/setup a 50 pound box or ladder
- Must own low voltage tools (snips, strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches)
- Able to work 2nd /3rd shift, overtime, and under pressure
- Must pass a 7-year background check, drug screen, and physical
- Requires valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance
- Must hold, or be willing to obtain, Washington State EL06 Training Card
- Minimum 2,000 hours commercial low voltage installation experience for Tech 2
- Able to terminate a jack, pull cable and 'work a 90' proficiently with limited supervision for Tech 2
- Can install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables proficiently for Tech 2
- Ability to build out MDF and IDF closets including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware with supervision for Tech 2
- Submit L&I 24 hours of continuing education for Tech 2
- Must hold Washington State EL06 Training Card for Tech 2
- Minimum 4,000 hours of commercial low voltage installation experience for Tech 3
- Able to terminate a jack, pull cable and 'work a 90' proficiently with no supervision for Tech 3
- Can install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems for CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, fiber optic, and coaxial cables with no supervision for Tech 3
- Ability to build out MDF and IDF closets including racks, patch panels, wire management systems, and network hardware with no supervision for Tech 3
- Hours submitted in L&I and must test every 6 months for Tech 3
- Must hold Washington State EL06 Training Card for Tech 3
- Must hold Washington State EL06 Journey License for Lead Tech / Tech 4
- OSHA 10 for Lead Tech / Tech 4
- First Aid/CPR for Lead Tech / Tech 4
- Must hold current Washington State EL06 Foreman License for Lead Tech / Tech 5
- OSHA 30 for Lead Tech / Tech 5
- First Aid/CPR for Lead Tech / Tech 5
- Demonstrated experience running a crew of 5+ technicians for Lead Tech / Tech 5
- Professional working proficiency in English
Preferred Qualifications:
- Commercial construction experience preferred
