Reliability & DevOps Intern - Summer 2026

Summary: Lenovo is a global technology powerhouse focused on delivering Smarter Technology for All. The Reliability DevOps Intern will work on enhancing system reliability and automation while gaining hands-on experience in modern AI systems. Responsibilities: - Build or enhance dashboards, alerts, and monitoring for system services and AI workloads - Improve observability by working with metrics, logs, and traces to better understand system behavior - Assist with identifying reliability risks and operational gaps in production systems - Write scripts or lightweight tools in Python, Bash, or similar languages to support DevOps and SRE workflows - Automate small, repeatable tasks related to deployments, pipelines, or cloud infrastructure management - Help improve CI/CD pipelines and operational automation - Write and maintain runbooks, operational guides, and reliability documentation - Document troubleshooting steps, system behaviors, and standard operating procedures - Support post‑incident analysis by helping gather data and document learnings - Assist with cloud infrastructure tasks across platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP - Support environments running AI workloads across cloud, edge, and device ecosystems - Learn how large‑scale AI platforms are deployed, monitored, and maintained - Work closely with engineers across DevOps, SRE, AI, and platform teams - Participate in design reviews, reliability discussions, and operational planning meetings - Learn best practices for building scalable, reliable systems in a fast‑moving engineering environment Required Qualifications: - Currently working toward a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field - Hands-on experience with Linux, including basic commands, processes, and networking concepts - Ability to write scripts or small tools using Python, Bash, or similar languages - Familiarity with cloud computing concepts (Azure, AWS, or GCP) - Basic understanding of Git, CI/CD concepts, and automation workflows - Foundational knowledge of networking concepts - Strong interest in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), reliability, or infrastructure engineering - Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced engineering environment - Clear written communication skills, especially for documentation and technical writing - Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications: - Exposure to observability tools (monitoring, logging, or tracing systems) - Experience working with pipelines or infrastructure-as-code concepts - Familiarity with AI platforms, distributed systems, or edge computing environments Required Skills: Linux, Python, Cloud Infrastructure, CI/CD Pipelines Important Skills: Git, Automation Scripting Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Summer Benefits: Lenovo complies with any applicable sick or paid leave law, including the Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Act, the Chicago Paid Leave and Paid Sick Leave ordinance, and the Cook County Paid Leave Ordinance, to the extent applicable based on the location of the intern and the length of the assignment.
