Data Analytics Summer Intern

Summary: Leidos is an industry and technology leader serving government and commercial customers with smarter, more efficient digital and mission innovations. They are seeking a Data Analytics Summer Intern to support the NIH / CSR mission by developing innovative data-driven and AI-powered solutions while contributing to building scalable cloud-based platforms and machine learning models. Responsibilities: - Support building end-to-end pipelines for document processing, classification, and data extraction - Participate in designing and implementation of machine learning models for classification, prediction, and sentiment analysis - Develop AI-powered tools to automate workflows, including document summarization and task extraction - Work with structured and unstructured data, including text, images, and transcripts - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders - Generate technical documentation, pseudocode, and test cases to support development efforts - Perform data analysis and create visualizations to support decision-making - Ensure data security, including handling of sensitive information such as PII - Participate in testing, debugging, and deployment of applications Required Qualifications: - Ongoing studies within a bachelor's program in Computer Science or similar field with a minimum 3.0 GPA - Experience with Python, Supervised Learning, Convolutional Neural Networks (PyTorch) is preferred - Experience with JavaScript and JS frameworks such as React - Solid understanding of software development process fundamentals - Strong, self-motivated desire to learn new programming languages, tools, frameworks, and techniques - Ability to complete tasking independently with minimal direct supervision - Ability to work and collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplined engineering team - Team players who can express and explain their ideas to others - Previous internship - Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance - U.S. Citizenship is required Required Skills: Python, Supervised Learning, Convolutional Neural Networks, PyTorch, JavaScript, React, Software Development Process, Public Trust Security Clearance Benefits: Competitive compensation, Health and Wellness programs, Income Protection, Paid Leave, Retirement
