Job Description
Summary: Lakeland Regional Health is a leading medical center located in Central Florida, dedicated to providing high-quality care to its diverse patient population. The Nurse Intern II role involves delivering care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse, performing daily living activities, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.
Responsibilities:
- Performs activities of daily living as delegated by the RN
- Accurate and timely documentation/communication of vital signs, intake and output, weights
- Immediately communicates any changes in patient condition or behavior to RN
- Role models our Promises in every interaction with patients, families and team members
- Adheres to HIPPA standards
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Provides for patient safety, quality, privacy and comfort through intentional/hourly rounding following standard work processes
- Performs removal of peripheral IVs including documentation in EMR as delegated by the RN
- Performs removal of urinary catheters including documentation in EMR as delegated by the RN
- Performs insertion of urinary straight catheters as delegated by the RN
- Fosters an inclusive and engaged environment through teamwork and collaboration
- Ensures patients and families have the best possible experiences across the continuum of care
- Communicates appropriately with patients, families, team members, and our community in a manner that treasures all people as uniquely created

Required Qualifications:
- High School or Equivalent
- Actively enrolled in a state approved RN program and completion of first semester of required nursing sequence. Must maintain active status and progression in clinical nursing sequence during the entire length of time in this job code
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Effective reading, verbal and communication skills
- Knowledge of providing activities of daily living, obtaining vital signs, and mobilizing patients
