About the opportunity
At the Conservatorium Library, the Student Engagement Assistant is a casual opportunity that will leverage their discipline-specific knowledge to engage with all visitors to the Library including Sydney Conservatorium of Music students and staff, to connect with relevant information and musical resources. The Student Engagement Assistant provides support to Library visitors in navigating the Conservatorium Library's significant collections of scores, audio recordings and monographs, as well as electronic resources.
The University Library reserves the right to transfer or rotate the location of this position to any of its Library sites based on workloads, professional development or business needs.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- respond to general questions about the Library and its services and resources received via service points, roving services, online and via telephone
- assist clients with access problems relating to loan matters
- assist with routine in-house processing tasks on print collections
- ensure that items are accessible to support learning, teaching and research
- assist clients with locating and using online and printed information resources
- respond to requests for articles and other resource items, from our collection, to be sent to other Library sites and organisations
- assist with maintenance, review and relocation of information resources
