Natural Resources Intern

Summary: KCI Technologies, Inc. is a 100% employee-owned engineering, consulting and construction firm serving clients throughout the United States. They are seeking a motivated student to join their team as a Natural Resources Intern for Summer 2026, providing hands-on experience in natural resources and ecological restoration. Responsibilities: - Assist in natural resource surveys including vegetative monitoring, stream surveying, identification and delineation of water resources (wetlands, streams, open waters, etc.) and protected species/suitable habitat assessment surveys - Collect GPS data in the field with the use of a hand-held GPS unit - Prepare GIS maps and figures for use in reports - Assist with the preparation of technical reports and permitting documents - Apply quality control procedures in alignment with ISO - Become familiar with regulatory requirements and restrictions for various projects and ensure compliance - Attend project meetings - Work in a team environment or independently - Provide on-time delivery of project expectations with favorable feedback - Perform administrative duties as requested Required Qualifications: - Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, or related field - Interest in environmental science and field research - Basic knowledge of scientific data collection and analysis - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - Valid Driver's License - Pre-employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment Preferred Qualifications: - 3.0 GPA or higher preferred - MicroStation or AutoCAD skills desired Required Skills: Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, Scientific data collection, Scientific data analysis, Field research, GPS data collection, GIS mapping, MicroStation, AutoCAD Benefits: Competitive compensation package, Family friendly benefits, Collaborative working environment, Training, mentoring and resources
