Natural Resource Technician Intern

Summary: KC Harvey Environmental is an environmental consulting and field services firm headquartered in Bozeman, Montana. They are seeking a Natural Resource Technician Intern to conduct natural resource field surveys and support project managers with data analysis and reporting duties. Responsibilities: - Conduct field surveys using established protocols for vegetation monitoring, wildlife habitat assessments, wetland delineations, wildlife surveys, and more - Use GPS, digital data forms or app-based forms, and hard copy data forms to collect data - Work with other field staff, under the supervision of field leads or project managers - Assist field lead or project managers with data entry, quality assurance, analysis, and summarization to meet protocol and regulatory requirements Required Qualifications: - BS in range management, ecology, biology, or applicable field or working toward such degree - 1 to 2 years of experience in natural resource field work preferred, however college students with an applicable field of study that includes botany, biology, range science, or wildlife are encouraged to apply - Ability to work remotely, possibly solo, in inclement weather conditions - Willingness to travel on extended, overnight field mobilizations - A positive attitude and ability to work well as part of a team - A valid driver's license and clean driving record - Have experience driving 4x4 pickup trucks, ATVs, and UTVs - A commitment to High Standards in Safety - Ability to participate in pre-employment drug and alcohol test Preferred Qualifications: - Preferred experience working in the Northern Great Plains, Rocky Mountains, and Intermountain West, including identification of fauna, flora, ecological assemblages, wetlands, and soils Required Skills: Natural resource field work, Vegetation monitoring, Wildlife habitat assessments, Wetland delineations, Wildlife surveys, GPS, Digital data forms, Data entry, Data quality assurance, Data analysis, Range management, Ecology, Biology, Botany, Range science, Wildlife identification, Fauna identification, Flora identification, Ecological assemblages, Wetlands, Soils, Driving 4x4 pickup trucks, Driving ATVs, Driving UTVs, work well as part of a team Benefits: 401(k) with company match, Comprehensive medical, dental vision as well as short and long-term disabilities, life insurance and flex spending account options, Paid time off program that includes paid holidays annually, vacation time, and wellness leave
