Job Description:
Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. Job Overview
The HEMA Manager plays a critical role in shaping market access and reimbursement strategy for DePuy Synthes in Taiwan. This role partners closely with Commercial, Medical Affairs, and Government Affairs to ensuretimelyand sustainable patient access to innovative orthopedic solutions. The position has a direct impact on business growth by driving pricing, reimbursement, and health economic value strategies aligned to local healthcare system requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute Health Economics and Market Access (HEMA) strategies to support the commercialization of DePuy Synthes products in Taiwan.
Develop and manage reimbursement, pricing, and funding strategies aligned with national and regional healthcare policies, dealing with the National Health Insurance Agency (NHIA) and the local citygovernmentDepartment of Health (DOH).
Partner with Commercial and Marketing teams to integrate market access insights into launch planning and lifecycle management.
Engage with key external stakeholders, including payers, hospital administrators,governmentofficers,and policy influencers, to support access and adoption.
Lead the development of value dossiers, health economic models, andoutcomesevidence todemonstrateproduct value.
Monitor healthcare policy, reimbursement, and competitive landscape changes and assess business impact.
Ensure all activitiescomply withJohnson & Johnson Credo, local regulations, and internal compliance requirements.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Medical, Regulatory, Finance, and Supply Chain to enable effective market access execution.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degreerequiredin Health Economics, Public Health, Life Sciences, Business, ora relatedfield.
Master’s degree (e.g., MBA, Health Economics) preferred.
Experience and Skills
Required:
Typically8years of relevant work experience in market access, reimbursement, pricing, or health economics within medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare.
Strong understanding of Taiwan healthcaresystem, reimbursement pathways, and payer dynamics.
Demonstrated experience partnering with commercial teams to support product launches and growth strategies.
Proven ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders.
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred:
Prior experience in orthopedics or medical technology.
Experience developing health economic models, value dossiers, or real‑world evidence.
Familiarity with regional or APAC market access strategies.
Experience working in matrixed, global organizations.
Other:
Languages: Fluent in Mandarin Chinese;proficiencyin Englishrequiredfor regional and global collaboration.
Travel:Limiteddomestic travel within Taiwan.
Certifications: Nonerequired.
