Job Description
Summary: Johnson Controls has a phenomenal Electrical Engineer position onsite at our New Freedom, PA, location. The role involves conducting electrical analysis, detailed design, and control of chiller components and systems while providing support to various teams globally.
Responsibilities:
- Investigates and analyzes product design proposals on electrical power panels, control panels, variable speed drives, and wire harnesses in accordance with UL, NEC, CSA, and CE codes
- Proficient in electrical design and able to conceptualize and implement design ideas into the product
- Proficient at preparing, checking, and coordinating the release of documentation to support designs
- Responsible for technical direction to application engineers, designers, factory operations, product marketing, and product technical service
- Responsible for the accurate completion of projects
- Continuously increases expertise in all aspects of chiller electrical design, theory, construction, operation, and applications
- Proficient at selecting the most suitable electrical components
- Uses standard and sophisticated technical and mathematical principles, theories, concepts, techniques, processes, and standard methodologies in the field
- Strives for continuous improvement and teamwork in a global product development and process environment
- Responsible for engineering drawings including electrical schematics, and bills of materials
- Adheres to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards
Required Qualifications:
- BS in Electrical Engineering
- 0-5 years of system level electrical design and panel design
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven, team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience crafting industrial products (engineer to order, applied, or ‘made to order' environments
- Understanding of chiller controls
- Familiarity with HVAC Systems and motor-driven mechanical engineering design and test
- Experience with mechanical systems and material resource planning (MRP) software
- Experience applying regulatory codes such as UL, NEC, CSA, and CE codes
