Job Description
Summary: International Technology and Trade Associates, Inc. (ITTA) is an international consulting firm based in Washington, D.C., offering a paid graduate internship in international trade and foreign policy. The intern will monitor developments in international economic policy, track US trade/investment policies, and analyze geopolitical events impacting the global energy sector.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring developments in international economic policy and US-oriented geopolitical issues (with a focus on tariff policy developments, supply chain security, and key sectors of the 21st century global economy such as semiconductors, critical minerals, etc.), on an ongoing basis in support of ITTA Analyst
- Keeping track of recent developments in the US Congress, Executive Branch, and state governments on US trade/investment policies and various geopolitical issues, as well as industry and trade associations
- Monitoring geopolitical events impacting the global energy sector, specifically oil, gas and fossil fuels, to assist with ongoing country/risk analysis. Areas of ongoing focus include the Middle East, Russia/Ukraine, trans-Atlantic and Western Hemisphere energy affairs, and market developments
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate student status
- Ability to monitor developments in international economic policy and US-oriented geopolitical issues
- Ability to keep track of recent developments in the US Congress, Executive Branch, and state governments on US trade/investment policies
- Ability to monitor geopolitical events impacting the global energy sector
- Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week
- Willingness to work on site
- Ability to work flexible hours during normal business hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.)
- Submission of a resume, cover letter, and brief writing sample
