Job Description
Junior Software Engineer (Java)
Location: Zagreb (Croatia)
Working at Infobip means being part of something truly global. With 75+ offices across six continents, we’re not just building technology — we’re shaping how more than 80% of the world connects and communicates.
As employees, we take pride in contributing to the world’s largest and only full-stack cloud communication platform. But it’s not just what we do, it’s how we do it: with curiosity, passion, and a whole lot of collaboration.
We operate with an AI-first mindset, embedding intelligent tools into our daily workflows to work smarter and more efficiently. Every role here benefits from and contributes to this approach.
If you're looking for meaningful work and challenges that grow you in a culture where people show up with purpose, this is your opportunity.
Let’s build what’s next, together.
Why is this role important at Infobip?
Being a part of Infobip Engineering means working on an in-house developed product and delivering solutions on a global level. As a Software Engineer, you will own your part of the codebase, contribute meaningfully to your team's microservices, and work within a large-scale distributed architecture. It is resilient, scalable, sends over 500 million messages daily, and directly impacts how our clients run their businesses.
This isn't a role for learning the basics. It's a role for engineers who already have solid fundamentals and are ready to grow fast in a high-complexity environment.
What will you do at Infobip?
You will write well-designed, testable, and maintainable code. Not just code that works, but code your team can build on.
You will take ownership of your tasks end-to-end: design, implementation, testing, and code review participation.
You will develop a solid understanding of the systems your team operates within, including their dependencies, failure modes, and trade-offs.
You will contribute to technical discussions with grounded opinions backed by your own experience and reasoning.
You will proactively identify problems, ask the right questions, and push solutions forward without waiting to be told what to do next.
You will share knowledge within the team and help raise the bar through code reviews and day-to-day collaboration.
Tech stack
Java is our primary language. We use React for frontend where needed and Python/Next.js for some initiatives. On the data side, you'll work with SQL and Postgres. The work is heavy on integrations: two-way sync, Salesforce, and distributed systems.
Qualifications
More about you:
You have 1-3 years of hands-on professional experience in software engineering, not including internships or academic projects alone.
Java is our primary technology and solid, production-level Java experience is required.
You've worked in a team environment and have shipped code to production. You know what that responsibility feels like.
You understand core software engineering concepts: clean code, testing, version control, and basic system design.
You're open to working across the stack and picking up new technologies as the work demands.
You are genuinely curious about how distributed systems behave and enjoy digging into the "why" behind complex problems.
You work well in an agile environment and are comfortable with ambiguity. You don't need everything defined for you to move forward.
You build real, lasting working relationships, not just functional ones.
