Technology Design Intern - Naperville, I

Summary: IMEG is one of the largest design consulting firms in the U.S. and is seeking a Technology Design Intern for their Naperville, IL office. The role involves assisting with engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of low-voltage technology in buildings while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities: - Assist with design portions of a project related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards - Assist with researching resources for commercially available equipment - Assist with good client relations, project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files - Assist with coordinating design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical and equipment suppliers - Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and instructions from client promptly while monitoring project design progress - Assist with review of all project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check - Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information - Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement - Other duties assigned by the employer Required Qualifications: - Strong interest in building design consulting - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment - Attention to detail and problem-solving skills - Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenge - Developing proficiency in the use of BIM software - Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups - Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook - Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer or related Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, related STEM field, or equivalent required - Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds - Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull - Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises Preferred Qualifications: - Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry Required Skills: BIM software, Building design consulting Nice-to-Have Skills: Oral, MS Office Suite Benefits: Health insurance coverage, An employee wellness program, Life and disability insurance, A retirement savings plan, Paid holidays, Paid time off (PTO), Generous PTO, Flexible schedule, Assistance with tuition reimbursement, Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
