Job Description
Summary: ICCU is a financial cooperative that is seeking an Insurance Intern in the Tri Cities area. The role involves conducting outreach to Medicare-eligible individuals, managing leads, and assisting licensed agents while gaining practical insights into the insurance field.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct outbound calls to Medicare-eligible individuals to prequalify and schedule appointments with licensed agents
- Manage and organize incoming leads from various sources including marketing campaigns, referrals, and outreach efforts
- Assist licensed agents in maintaining lead databases and appointment calendars
- Participate in mentorship with a licensed Medicare agent to gain practical insights into client interaction and compliance
- Support additional administrative and outreach projects as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, especially over the phone
- Comfortable using CRM systems and lead tracking tools
- Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality of client information
- Willingness to learn about Medicare products, ethical sales practices, and compliance standards
- Background check and fingerprinting may be required depending on system access
- Must be eligible for membership at ICCU to obtain employment
