Job Description
Summary: Howmet Aerospace Inc. is a leading global provider of advanced engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries. The Manufacturing Engineer I role involves developing, evaluating, and enhancing manufacturing methods for aerospace machined components to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Support manufacturing processes to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency
- Assist with creating and maintaining work instructions, routers, and standard operating procedures
- Support process changes, validations and shop-floor improvements
- Participating in NPI, FAI, and Continuous Improvement Projects
- Collects and analyzes basic manufacturing data (cycle time, scrap rate, yield)
- Reviews and implements manufacturing drawing and engineering change notices
- Support Cost-Reduction and Efficiency initiatives
- Participates in PFMEA, Process Capability, and RCCA studies
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent hands-on applicable experience
- Minimum 1+ years of engineering experience
- Basic Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite products, and strong knowledge of Solidworks or other modeling software
- Knowledge of CNC manufacturing & aerospace standards, AS9100, GD&T, fixturing and gaging methods
- Experience in metal manufacturing, especially using titanium and/or nickel-based superalloys
- Statistical process control experience in the aerospace industry a plus
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire
