College Intern - Project Management/Insights Scrum Team (Hybrid in Troy, MI) - Health Alliance Plan

Summary: Henry Ford Health is seeking a College Intern for their Health Alliance Plan to support a Customer Insights Agile Scrum Team. This internship provides practical experience in the healthcare and insurance sector, allowing the intern to collaborate on projects and enhance their skills through research and teamwork. Responsibilities: - Conduct comprehensive research on industry trends, healthcare policies, and emerging technologies. Analyze data and prepare reports to support strategic decision-making processes - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in the planning, development, and implementation of projects. Contribute innovative ideas and support the execution of initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and customer experience - Assist in the collection, organization, and analysis of healthcare-related data. Ensure data accuracy and integrity, utilizing appropriate software tools and methodologies - Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and assisting with customer support activities. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with internal and external stakeholders - Identify opportunities for process optimization and propose innovative solutions to streamline workflows and enhance productivity. Assist in the implementation of approved process improvement initiatives - Create and maintain accurate documentation, including policies, procedures, and project-related materials. Generate regular reports, dashboards, and presentations to effectively communicate project progress and outcomes - Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments to support a positive and inclusive work environment. Contribute actively to team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives - Provide general support to a Data Mastering Agile Scrum Team by assisting with day‑to‑day tasks and participating in team meetings such as stand‑ups, planning sessions, and reviews as appropriate - Assist with gathering, organizing, and validating business requirements from internal customers - Support team members by helping document data definitions, basic business rules, and simple process steps related to mastering data - Help maintain project documentation, trackers, and Agile artifacts - Assist in preparing reports, dashboards, or presentations to help communicate team progress and outcomes - Work collaboratively with team members across departments, demonstrating professionalism, curiosity, and a willingness to learn in a fast‑paced Agile environment Required Qualifications: - Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, an accredited 4-year undergraduate or graduate program in a relevant field - Excellent research, analytical, and critical thinking skills - Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools - Exceptional verbal and written communication skills - Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines - Demonstrated adaptability, initiative, and a desire to learn and grow - Knowledge or interest in healthcare, health insurance, or managed care is a plus - Michigan resident Preferred Qualifications: - Coursework in Project Management, Agile/Scrum methodologies preferred - Experience supporting projects through coursework, internships, or group initiatives - Familiarity with project tracking tools an asset - Basic data and analytics knowledge Required Skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Data Analysis, Agile, Scrum, Healthcare Knowledge, Health Insurance Knowledge, Managed Care Knowledge, Project Tracking Tools, Data Analytics, Research, Analytical Thinking, Project Management
