Overview Position: Sonographer with a pediatric cardiovascular imaging focus in a travel assignment. Location: San Luis Obispo, California. Start date: 06/22/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,309–$2,495 per week. Guaranteed hours: none. Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts (3x12). Setting: hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform pediatric cardiovascular ultrasound studies, including M-Mode with calculations, 2-D imaging with all required views and calculations, and Doppler echo with analysis.
• Obtain and interpret imaging data with age-specific considerations (pediatric Echo) and anticipate the needs of the physician, providing awareness of potential patient problems.
• Prepare and position pediatric patients for imaging, ensuring safety, comfort, and adherence to pediatric imaging protocols.
• Document findings concisely, ensure data quality, and support timely physician review and interpretation.
• Collaborate with the care team to coordinate care, maintain equipment readiness, and uphold infection control and safety standards.
• This position is represented by SEIU.

Requirements

• Experience performing pediatric cardiovascular echocardiography, including M-Mode, 2-D imaging, and Doppler analysis.
• Ability to interpret imaging data with age-specific considerations and communicate findings effectively to the interpreting physician.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to anticipate physician needs and identify potential patient problems.
• Availability for a travel assignment of 13 weeks with dayshift, 12-hour shifts.
• Eligible to work in the United States and able to travel to the assignment location.
