Responsibilities

• Perform adult transthoracic echocardiography studies using standard imaging protocols, including 2D, Doppler, and M-mode assessments.
• Acquire, optimize, and analyze high-quality cardiac images; document measurements and findings in the electronic medical record (EPIC).
• Communicate results to the cardiology team and collaborate with physicians, sonographers, and nursing staff to support patient care.
• Ensure proper patient positioning, preparation, and comfort; follow infection control and safety guidelines; maintain equipment and work area.
• May float to outpatient facilities; some call may be required; adhere to department policies and escalation procedures.

Requirements

• Certification: ARDCS (ARDMS or CCI) in Cardiac Sonography (ARDCS) required.
• Certifications: AHA BLS; EKG recognition required.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of cardiac ultrasound experience.
• EMR: EPIC experience within the past 2 years is required.
• Start timing: Ability to start within the next week is preferred.
• Population and setting: Comfortable working in IP, OP, and ICU populations.
• Transportation: Reliable personal transportation is required; public transit is not available; a personal or rental vehicle with appropriate winter tires is strongly recommended (November–April).
• Scheduling: Monday through Sunday operations with no block schedules.
