Engineer II

Summary: Harris & Associates is dedicated to advancing water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure in Southern California. The Engineer II role involves supporting project managers and engineers in the preparation of plans, specifications, and engineering documents for critical water infrastructure projects. Responsibilities: - Supports Clients and Projects while assisting Project Managers and Project Engineers - Supports preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) - Working knowledge of and proficiency in AutoCAD software(s) in support of design and construction drawings - Supports preparation of technical memoranda, basis of designs reports, preliminary engineering reports, and other written technical engineering documents - Supports preparation of engineering calculations and other process-driven solutions - Reviews, understands, and honors Project Scope of Work/Services, Budgets, and Schedules - Interprets data, thinks critically, solves problems, applies good judgement, and works diligently in support of our objectives - Applies basic design principles and techniques in support of solving Client objectives Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field required - 0-3 years of relevant experience performing engineering or technical work in relevant discipline - Working knowledge of design and construction drawings/plans, including an ability to integrate water system designs within a larger, multidisciplinary project environment - Working knowledge of agency design standards, design guidelines, and other industry-recognized best practices - Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications: - Engineer in Training License (EIT) preferred - Microsoft Project (Scheduling) preferred - Southern California experience preferred - Water market experience preferred Required Skills: Civil Engineering, AutoCAD Important Skills: Engineer in Training License, Microsoft Project, Water Market Experience Nice-to-Have Skills: Communication Skills Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, ESOP, 401K Match, PTO, 8 Paid Holidays + "1 WorkAversary" paid holiday to celebrate you!, Health & Well-Being Allowance, Tuition reimbursement, Flexible work plans, Paid Leave Programs such as maternity, parentally, and family medical leave
