About the role
The Global Product Owner for VMS provides end‑to‑end global technical ownership of Haleon’s vitamins, minerals, and supplements portfolio, ensuring consistent product quality, robustness, and regulatory compliance across all markets and manufacturing sites. Acting as the single Technical authority for VMS products, the role drives lifecycle management, technical risk mitigation, and continuous improvement from new product introduction through commercialization and maintenance. Positioned within the Global Wellness Technical team, the GPO connects R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Regulatory to protect brand equity and ensure reliable, science‑led delivery of VMS products worldwide.
Key responsibilities
Own the end-to-end technical and quality lifecycle of global VMS products, ensuring robust Product Control Strategies, current Technical Risk Assessments, and consistent execution across internal sites and CMOs.
Act as the global technical authority for VMS formulations, with deep expertise in vitamins, minerals, excipient interactions, stability, and shelf-life performance across markets.
Lead data-driven continuous improvement programs, proactively trending manufacturing performance, analytical data, and stability results to drive quality, cost, and supply robustness improvements.
Provide technical leadership on post‑approval changes, including raw material changes, supplier qualification, formulation adjustments, and site transfers, ensuring regulatory compliance for food supplement and OTC frameworks globally.
Support new product introductions (NPIs) and lifecycle optimization during formulation development, scale-up, and technology transfer into the supply network.
Serve as the primary technical interface for Health Authority interactions and internal stakeholders, providing high-quality justifications related to quality, specifications, stability, and lifecycle management of VMS products.
Mentor site Technical and Supply teams, building strong technical capability in VMS manufacturing processes, analytical controls, and product knowledge.
Qualifications and skills
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering (chemistry, pharmacy, food science or related) with ~8–10 years relevant industry experience in VMS or consumer health products.
Strong technical expertise in VMS product formulation, stability, excipient interactions, and analytical controls.
Demonstrated capability in Product Quality Lifecycle Management, including technical risk assessment, control strategies, and post‑approval change management.
Experience leading technology transfer and scale‑up across multiple manufacturing sites or CMOs.
Working knowledge of global regulatory and GMP requirements applicable to food supplements and VMS products (e.g., FDA, EU, ICH‑aligned frameworks).
Preferred
Experience working in a global, matrixed organization, influencing outcomes across R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Procurement without direct authority.
Ability to translate complex scientific and technical topics into clear, actionable guidance for non‑technical stakeholders and senior leadership.
Experience engaging with external partners (e.g., CMOs, ingredient suppliers, scientific experts, regulators) to drive alignment and technical decisions.
Strong technical documentation and regulatory writing capability, including preparation or review of justifications, risk assessments, and lifecycle strategy documents.
Experience supporting portfolio‑level decision making, balancing technical risk, consumer need, regulatory expectations, and business priorities in the VMS category
