Summary: Goodworks Unlimited is seeking FT & PT Nurses for their Barton House of Louisville. The role involves administering medication, implementing care plans, and supervising direct care staff to ensure a therapeutic environment for residents. Responsibilities: - Administering medication as prescribed - Implementing the plan of care - Maintaining a safe environment - Carrying out doctor’s orders - Providing complete documentation - Provides coaching, supervision and assistance to the direct care staff - Provides and supervises basic care for residents - Assuring that the environment is consistently therapeutic - Role modeling appropriate interactions with the residents, staff and families - Working some weekends and holidays Required Qualifications: - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing - Current State NURSING Licensure - Must possess effective written, verbal and nonverbal communication skills - Stable emotional makeup - Creative and caring - Able to work under stressful conditions - Professional conduct, honoring boundaries, setting limits and maintaining confidentiality - Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, families, physicians, and residents - Must be able to follow state licensure guidelines in relation to all aspects of the medications - Must be able to make appropriate decisions in difficult situations - Must demonstrate good judgement - Must be able to accurately assess the residents' health status - Must be able to meet physical demands of lifting and moving more than 50 pounds - Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time Preferred Qualifications: - Prior clinical and recent mental health or gerontological experience Required Skills: State nursing licensure, Clinical nursing experience, Mental health nursing, Gerontological nursing, Medication administration, Health status assessment, Emotional stability, Caring attitude, Professional conduct, Judgement
