Job Description
Summary: Go McPherson is a company seeking a QA Technician for the third shift. The role involves performing quality control inspections and tests on raw materials and finished products, ensuring adherence to specifications and maintaining a sanitary environment.
Responsibilities:
- Performs quality control inspections on production samples
- Performs chemical and microbiological analysis on raw materials and final products to verify adherence to stated specifications
- Performs routine line inspections, audits, and equipment checks on the production floor
- Uses keen observation skills, clear communication skills, and good judgment to catch, address, and prevent production errors
- Approves release of products and materials
- Maintains various production and raw material testing and problem logs and records
- Stores production and raw material samples
- In consultation with supervision, takes proper steps to troubleshoot problems in the lab and on the production floor
- Maintains lab equipment and keeps work area clean
- Performs all operations according to all established Safety Policies, Good Lab Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Operating Procedures
- Reports and takes necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring
- Communicates effectively, efficiently, and in a timely manner within the quality department and with other departments throughout the plant at all levels
- Performs sanitation inspections on equipment and facility to maintain a sanitary and food safe environment
Required Qualifications:
- 4 Year degree in a science related field or 1 year minimum of equivalent experience in a QA or laboratory setting
- Must be able to use Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to use various laboratory equipment
- Ability to perform inspections on the production floor
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in SAP preferred
