Job Description
Summary: Georgia United Credit Union is dedicated to providing excellent member services and financial solutions. The Universal Associate role involves welcoming members, assisting with account services, and promoting credit union products while ensuring compliance with operational standards.
Responsibilities:
- Welcome and directs members visiting the branch, creating a positive member experience from start to finish
- Presents and explains credit union services and products to members, performing daily tasks such as opening and closing accounts, and conducting account research
- Resolve member account discrepancies by performing file maintenance and making necessary account changes
- Assists with the escalation of complex transactions when required
- Informs members about credit union technology services and offerings
- Assists members with troubleshooting technology-related transactions and issues
- Maintains the credit union’s professional reputation by adhering to professional standards of conduct and following credit union guidelines and policies
- Identifies, recommends, and promotes products and services to build financial relationships in alignment with the credit union’s business strategy
- Counsels members regarding money management and financial matters
- Demonstrates awareness and commitment to achieving credit union, branch, and individual goals
- Uses consultative conversations to assess member needs and recommend appropriate products and services to meet or exceed these goals
- Promotes and establishes strong, positive, and productive working relationships within the organization by committing to the company’s purpose, mission, and core values
- Interviews and gather preliminary documents to originate, process, and close consumer loans
- Evaluates and verifies loan applications and credit criteria
- Computes debit ratios, verifies employment and income, determines collateral value and recommends loans for approval
- Notifies applicants of loan decisions and requests additional information if required
- Coordinates and processes loan closings, ensuring that each loan is promptly and properly prepared, documented, processed, and disbursed according to the credit union’s loan quality standards
- Assists in servicing loans by processing items such as payoffs, refinances, loan workout arrangements, address changes, payment extensions, collateral releases and payment due date changes
- Processes transactions that cannot be completed through automated channels in the branch
- Maintains a balancing record that meets established standards for transactions performed
- Assists members with the ATM+ machines as required
- Completes branch operational duties, including ensuring branch security procedures are followed, assisting with monthly branch audit responsibilities, assisting with the internal review checklist, and compiling reports as required
- Assists with controlling branch cash, including balancing cash drawers, the branch vault, cash recyclers, cash orders, and balancing the ATM+ machines as required
- Identifies and reports/escalates potentially fraudulent activity, keeping the manager informed of activities and significant concerns while maintaining member information and privacy
- Completes special projects and other duties as assigned
