Job Title: Principal Software Engineer Department & Team: Digital, Gadgets Team Location: India
Role Overview: Shape the frontend architecture that powers how agents and supervisors interact with customers across multiple channels at global scale. This role drives the performance, scalability, and usability of enterprise UI platforms that directly impact customer experience and operational efficiency. At Genesys, you will contribute to building empathetic, AI-driven experiences that help organizations deliver better outcomes for their customers.
As a senior technical leader in the Digital Gadgets team, you will define frontend strategy, guide architectural decisions, and influence engineering standards across teams. You will work closely with product, design, and platform leaders to deliver modern, accessible, and high-performing applications. This role offers visibility into global deployments and the opportunity to expand your impact across platform-level innovation and engineering leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and evolution of scalable frontend architectures, including micro frontend ecosystems, to support enterprise-grade customer interaction platforms
- Drive development of high-performance, accessible user interfaces that improve agent productivity and customer engagement outcomes
- Own end-to-end delivery of features and Gadgets, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and alignment with enterprise UI standards
- Define and advance reusable design systems and component libraries to accelerate development and ensure consistency
- Influence frontend best practices across React, Angular, and modern JavaScript ecosystems
- Improve application reliability by advancing automated testing and quality engineering practices
- Optimize performance and ensure compliance with accessibility standards such as WCAG
- Enable seamless global deployments through localization, regional readiness, and compliance alignment
- Strengthen application security through proactive scanning and remediation
- Mentor engineers and elevate technical standards across the team
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in frontend software development within modern web environments
- Proven experience leading design and delivery of large-scale web applications or enterprise UI platforms
- Strong expertise in React, Angular, and modern frontend development practices
- Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), and reactive programming concepts such as RxJS
- Experience with micro frontend architecture and scalable design systems
- Strong understanding of performance optimization and accessibility standards such as WCAG
- Experience with API integration and event-driven UI patterns
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, quality engineering, and production support practices
- Proficiency with Git and modern version control workflows
- Demonstrated technical leadership, ownership, and mentoring experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience building enterprise UI platforms for high-scale, global applications
- Familiarity with secure coding practices and automated security tools
- Experience working in cloud-based or distributed system environments
- Exposure to global product deployments and localization strategies
- Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
