Job Description
Summary: General Atomics is one of the world’s leading resources for high-technology systems development. They currently have an exciting opportunity for an Undergraduate Intern to work within their Legal Department, where the intern will support legal staff and perform various administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in supervised practical training by legal assistants and provide support to the legal department
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, copying, printing, scanning, taking meeting notes, and preparing binders
- Maintain corporate files, which includes indexing, maintaining a central repository, maintaining logging systems, and transporting documents between legal and business departments
- Perform legal research
- Utilize communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels of employees as well as internal and external contacts
- Utilize MS Office Suite and other computer-based applications
- Perform other duties as assigned or required
Required Qualifications:
- Typically requires enrollment as an undergraduate student at a recognized college or university
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information and exercise sound judgment
- Ability to quickly understand new concepts and apply them accurately
- Ability to follow general and detailed instructions as well as organizational policies and procedures
- Excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills to enable effective interface with internal and external professionals
- Ability to work both independently or in a team environment
- Advanced MS Office Suite and computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- An undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.6 or above is strongly preferred
