Job Description
Summary: General Atomics is a leading resource for high-technology systems development, and they are seeking an Undergraduate Intern to work within their Legal Department. The intern will participate in supervised training, perform administrative tasks, and assist with legal research and document management.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in supervised practical training by legal assistants and provide support to the legal department
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, copying, printing, scanning, taking meeting notes, and preparing binders
- Maintain corporate files, which includes indexing, maintaining a central repository, maintaining logging systems, and transporting documents between legal and business departments
- Perform legal research
- Utilize communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels of employees as well as internal and external contacts
- Utilize MS Office Suite and other computer-based applications
- Perform other duties as assigned or required
Required Qualifications:
- Typically requires enrollment as an undergraduate student at a recognized college or university
- Must possess the ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information and exercise sound judgment
- Must possess the ability to quickly understand new concepts and apply them accurately
- Must possess the ability to follow general and detailed instructions as well as organizational policies and procedures
- Must possess excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills to enable effective interface with internal and external professionals
- Must possess the ability to work both independently or in a team environment
- Must possess advanced MS Office Suite and computer skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- An undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.6 or above is strongly preferred
