The Bodewell Training Support Assistant supports the development of technical training materials by editing content to ensure it aligns with guidelines established by the Technical Support team. This role includes reviewing and editing service guides, training materials, and related documentation to ensure consistency, clarity, and accuracy.

How You'll Create Possibilities
Responsibilities:
Technical Editing
Once a Service Guide has passed through peer-review amongst the Service Specialists
Review written publication content to ensure it complies with GE Appliances specifications, including proper grammar, spelling, format, and logical information flow.
Support the creation of a “Project Analysis” email by organizing notes and outlining content based on the Table of Contents
Assist with reviewing Service Guides line-by-line to check for spelling, grammar, and basic formatting consistency.
Use established editing checklists to identify potential issues and flag them for review by the Service Specialist or Senior Content Editor.
Document and communicate identified edits or questions clearly so they can be addressed by the appropriate team members.
Review submitted graphics to ensure compliance with image quality, size parameters, and that any additional effects or callouts are formatted correctly.
Assist in coordinating feedback between Subject Matter Experts and editors to help move materials toward finalization.
Provide summarized observations from checklist reviews to support the Senior Content Editor’s final evaluation and decision-making.
Other related duties as assigned:
Assist in organizing and coordinating training sessions across various topics.
Demonstrate initiative in completing assigned tasks and supporting team objectives.
Support the preparation and adjustment of training materials based on guidance from the Service Network and leadership.
Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders across different levels of the organization.
Maintain clear and professional written and verbal communication.
Track and compile training data and provide updates to the manager as requested.
Maintain a basic understanding of appliance functionality and repair concepts to support training efforts.
Utilize Microsoft Teams to support communication, scheduling, and virtual training sessions.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Basic Qualifications:
0 to 3 years of experience in technical editing.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, which includes Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat.
Strong degree of engineering and technical comprehension.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must demonstrate knowledge of correct grammar, both written and spoken.
Strong attention to detail.
Commitment to thorough analysis of all aspects of desktop publishing.
General understanding of functionality and reporting with Raven 360, DevelopU, and EdCast LMS platforms for training and learning content and reporting deployment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or equal amount of time in related professional experience.
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
20% travel required for domestic and/or international travel to customer sites/ plants, etc.
