Job Description
Summary: GE Aerospace is seeking an intern in their Material Informatics group. The intern will apply materials informatics and probabilistic methods to deliver solutions and work in a multi-disciplinary team analyzing and optimizing materials systems and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with GE business design and services communities to drive system performance improvement through new materials and processes guided by machine learning, probabilistics, computational material simulations, and high throughput experiments
- Applying machine learning and probabilistic design and optimization methods to real-world industrial applications for New Product Introduction (NPI), New Technology Introduction (NTI), design and services maintenance planning
- Collect, curate and analyze and process materials data for knowledge extraction and actionable insights
- Implementing machine learning, probabilistic design and optimization methods into GE internal design and services tools
Required Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in PhD program, seeking technical degree in Materials Engineering or a related field in an accredited college or university
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S
- Must be willing to work from the GE Aerospace Research office in Niskayuna, NY
- Minimum GPA 3.0 / 4.0 scale
