The Actuarial Senior Specialist for Local Valuation and Capital Management is a role that caters regular reporting of statutory reports, analysis of PFRS performance of the company, as well as capital reporting and monitoring, including analysis of business drivers for these results. The role is also central to submission of regulatory reports and compliance with external audit, as well as other regulatory reporting needs.
1. Perform the calculation of the appropriate reserves and capital in accordance with the relevant accounting/regulatory standards (e.g., local statutory, PFRS) and applicable FWD policies (e.g. Capital Management Policy). - 20%
2. Perform reserve and capital movement analysis and sources-of-earnings, and clearly explain results and drivers to both technical and non-technical audiences - 20%
3. Provide support in the Business Plan exercise with respect to earnings and capital management (e.g. Projection of Capital requirements, capital status, and actions needed), including developing the capital strategy and limits based on the company’s Risk Appetite Framework and Capital Management Policy. - 20%
4. Prepare the required local statutory reportorial requirements in the case of local statutory reserving (e.g., AVR, Annual Statement, RBC, etc.) and Group Office templates needed for regional reporting (e.g. Economic Capital reporting, forecasting for Local Solvency and Economic Capital, etc.) - 20%
5. Proposed improvements on existing valuation processes by streamlining manual processes, DCS automation, etc. and improvement on controls and documentation around the valuation process, supporting Group Wide Supervision and Model Governance Initiatives - 10%
6. Other special projects that may be assigned from time to time (e.g., PFRS 17/RBC transition, Prophet model UAT and impact quantification, etc.) - 10%
Education & Certification:
Graduate of Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or similar courses
Near Associate or Associate of the Actuarial Society of the Philippines (AASP)
Experience:
At least 5 years actuarial experience, preferably in valuation
Has worked in a multinational insurance company, with exposure to IFRS17 implementation
Has relevant experience in using FIS Prophet and Data Conversion System (DCS)
Technical Competencies/Skills:
Problem Solving:Develop valuation models in accordance with the relevant regulatory framework or accounting policies
Communication:Clear communicator, both oral and written, in reserve movement analysis and earnings attribution
Innovation:Drive continuous improvement to support a growing business by streamlining processes and improving models
