Designer

Summary: Floor & Decor is a company specializing in flooring and home design, and they are seeking a Designer to provide consultative design services. The role involves meeting with customers to understand their project needs and creating design concepts that reflect their personal style and budget. Responsibilities: - Greet store customers in a helpful manner and supports store design walk-in needs - Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers, while developing clientele through networking and referrals, as well as leads generated within the store - Providing tile, wood, stone and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for both residential and commercial projects - Design and sell complete, functional and aesthetically appealing solutions - Manage multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness and follow-up including consistent and concise communication to customers and others. Proficient and consistent use of company communication tools and emails are required - Collaborate, partner and communicate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation, and achieve sales and other goals - Enthusiastically support all company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees - Engage in current and emerging design trends in your market - Responsible for understanding and utilizing design applications i.e.; Salesforce, proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, MyProject - Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - Minimum of One (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience - Proficient in basic mathematical skills - Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills - Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite - Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position Preferred Qualifications: - Degree in Design is a plus - Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus Required Skills: Interior design experience Important Skills: flooring, Basic mathematical skills, Design applications proficiency Nice-to-Have Skills: Multi-tasking ability, Basic computer knowledge, communication skills, Self-motivated Benefits: Bonus opportunities & career advancement opportunities at every level, Programs that help you reach your financial goals: 401k with company match, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, and Referral Bonus Program, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and other Insurance Plans (subject to eligibility criteria), Paid vacation and sick time for eligible associates, Paid holidays plus a personal holiday, Paid Volunteer Time Off that starts on Day 1
