Payroll Manager What you will do
The Payroll Manager is responsible for leading end-to-end payroll operations, governance, and compliance across multiple jurisdictions. You will manage a team of payroll professionals to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll delivery while partnering closely with HR, Finance, vendors, and business stakeholders.
The role also drives payroll transformation, process improvements, and system enhancements, including automation and data-driven decision-making. In addition, you will manage complex payroll matters such as expatriate/inpat payroll, tax coordination, audits, and high-sensitivity compensation issues.
Essential Functions
Payroll Operations & Leadership
- Lead and develop a payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Oversee end-to-end payroll activities including salary processing, time reporting, payroll accounting, and statutory submissions.
- Ensure payroll records are accurate, secure, and audit-ready.
Governance, Compliance & Policy
- Develop and maintain payroll policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws, labour regulations, and internal controls.
- Support internal and external audits and resolve findings.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage payroll vendors and service providers, including performance monitoring and escalations.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Support negotiations with vendors to achieve business objectives.
Process Improvement & Transformation
- Drive automation, system improvements, and payroll process optimisation.
- Use data-driven insights to support recommendations and decision-making.
- Support payroll system implementations and enhancements.
Complex Cases & Projects
- Manage expatriate/inpat payroll, tax coordination, and stock-related compensation issues.
- Resolve complex payroll escalations in partnership with vendors and consultants
- Lead payroll-related projects and transformation initiatives.
You will be a great fit if you
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of payroll experience, including supervisory or managerial exposure.
- Strong knowledge of payroll operations, tax compliance, and multi-country environments.
- Experience managing vendors and working in complex organisations.
- Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in payroll transformation or automation is an advantage.
