Associate Custom Production Designer

Summary: F. Schumacher & Co. is an innovative interior design company that is disrupting the global interior design industry. The Associate Custom Production Designer supports the custom rug production process by creating digital artwork renderings, assisting with custom rug consultations, and managing order placements with overseas suppliers. Responsibilities: - Create scaled digital artwork renderings in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for custom rug requests, including full-rug layouts, strike-off renderings, and room placements when necessary - Translate client specifications — colorways, pattern modifications, size changes, and construction details — into production-ready artwork files - Support revision cycles through to client sign-off, maintaining an organized archive of all artwork versions - Support account managers with information on custom feasibility, including construction options, fiber selection, sizing, and lead times - Assist with colorway development and material selection based on project requirements - Review client feedback on samples and strike-offs and support the approvals process through to production release - Assist in placing and processing custom orders with overseas mills, ensuring all specifications are accurately documented - Track orders through production milestones and flag any delays or discrepancies to senior team members - Coordinate sample and strike-off shipments between suppliers, showrooms, and workrooms - Communicate technical specifications and artwork files clearly and accurately to mill teams - Support positive supplier relationships to help ensure efficient production, quality consistency, and timely delivery - Help troubleshoot production and quality issues, escalating to senior team members where necessary Required Qualifications: - Some experience or strong interest in custom rug or textile production, with familiarity with construction types including but not limited to hand-knotted, hand-tufted, flatweave - Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalent artwork software - Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent requests - Clear, professional communicator — comfortable working with account managers and overseas suppliers - Detail-oriented with a proactive, solutions-focused approach - A genuine appreciation for design quality and craftsmanship Required Skills: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Custom rug production, Textile production, Hand-knotted rug construction, Hand-tufted rug construction, Flatweave rug construction Benefits: Corporate Annual Profit Sharing, 401K Plan, Dental Coverage, Medical Coverage, Prescription Drug Plan, Vision Coverage, Health Savings Account (HSA), TELADOC, 20 Days Paid Time Off (PTO), 10 Company Holidays, Bereavement Leave, Life Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), AFLAC Plans (Accident and Critical Illness Plans), Pet Insurance, Short-Term Disability (STD), Long Term Disability (LTD), Parental Medical Leave, Child Bonding Leave, Employee Discount
