Introduction to the Team
Expedia Group B2B is the business-to-business arm of Expedia Group. We bring Expedia Group's innovative technology and distribution solutions to partners across the world. These businesses include global financial institutions, corporate managed travel, offline travel agents, global travel suppliers (like major airlines) and many more. As a global leader in travel technology, Expedia Group B2B powers thousands of partners across diverse markets and travel segments.
Our engineering team builds and maintains the systems that make these partnerships possible — designing scalable, reliable solutions that create meaningful impact for our partners and the travelers they serve.
In this role, you will:
Design, develop, and maintain complex software applications across multiple languages and technology stacks, ensuring code is clean, modular, and optimized
Create and manage APIs to be consumed across the business unit, selecting the right technologies to meet evolving needs
Lead and clarify code evolution through code reviews, mentoring junior engineers and raising the technical bar across the team
Own testing, debugging, and monitoring at the project level, resolving issues within established SLAs
Design software that is easily testable and observable, leveraging appropriate frameworks and tools
Understand and design moderately complex systems, accounting for cross-team dependencies and interactions
Identify areas of inefficiency in code or system operations and propose solutions for improvement
Collaborate proactively with peers across the organization to solve shared problems and build understanding of cross-dependencies
Compile and present findings on major operational or technical initiatives (e.g., Root Cause Analyses) to broader stakeholder groups
Participate in a community of practice to share knowledge, continuously develop technical skills, and increase team effectiveness
Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field and 5+ years of professional software development experience; or Master's degree in a related technical field and 3+ years of experience; or equivalent related professional experience
Experience developing software in at least 3 different programming languages
Experience maintaining and operating at least 4 software projects or products in production environments, including bug fixing, troubleshooting, and monitoring
Demonstrated ability to apply software design principles, data structures, design patterns, and computer science fundamentals
Experience designing and building APIs for cross-team or cross-business-unit consumption
Familiarity with testing and monitoring tools, and experience designing observable, testable software
