You will support clients working on major mining, renewable energy, and infrastructure projects—helping them identify social risks, strengthen community and Indigenous relationships, and embed responsible practices into decision‑making. What Your Impact Is In this senior consulting role, you will shape project strategy, ensure high‑quality technical delivery, and influence meaningful outcomes for clients and communities. You will mentor emerging practitioners and contribute to ERM’s global Social Performance Technical Community—sharing insights, strengthening best practices, and helping clients address some of the most pressing social challenges facing industry today. What You’ll Bring Required Technical Diploma or Bachelor's degree in international development, law, public policy, political science, human rights, geography, public. health, economics, social science, resource management, anthropology or similar. 4+ years of progressively responsible experience including demonstrated ability to lead discrete scopes of work; manage teams and budgets; and provide technical guidance, oversight, and quality control. Experience in a consulting role is an asset. Proven experience contributing to diverse scopes of work related to social performance and human rights, including but not limited to qualitative and quantitative research; impact/risk assessments; policy and strategy development; training and capability building; multi-stakeholder engagement, participatory processes, and facilitation; developing management strategies and systems; report writing, reviewing and quality control; and providing insightful and actionable recommendations to clients. Experience working with Indigenous peoples in Canada, awareness of the historical context and issues facing Indigenous communities in Canada (including BC), and experience working with the private sector to support Indigenous involvement and reconciliation. Strong project management capabilities, including work planning, budgeting, scheduling, and project controls. Versatile, responsive, and results-oriented, with strong critical thinking skills. Exceptional communication and technical writing skills, with a keen attention to detail and understanding of how to frame deliverables to suit the specific need/audience. Ability to organize, prioritize and complete deadline-driven tasks; be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines; work closely with clients, team members, and other stakeholders; maintain flexibility; and work independently with minimal supervision. Business acumen to understand/communicate business risk and challenges and recognize commercial opportunities. Commitment to safety and following established health and safety protocols. Ability to build trusted relationships with clients, colleagues, and diverse stakeholders. Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area. Experience in a consulting role is an asset. Prior consulting experience in the mining and/or renewables sectors. Experience working within integrated national or global teams. Experience with Indigenous engagement and reconciliation initiatives. Facilitation experience, including efforts to build consensus and/or co-design. Understanding of the expectations of sustainable financial organizations regarding their risk review and evaluation of project, such as experience with the Equator Principles and International Finance Corporate Performance Standards. Demonstrated ability to mentor junior consultants and support their technical and professional development. Advanced French language skills. Key Responsibilities Provide technical expertise, leadership and project management for a variety of projects related to mining, oil and gas, power, renewables, and other sectors. Develop assessments, management frameworks, strategies, and actionable recommendations aligned with regulatory and best practice expectations. Drive oversight and quality assurance across projects. Collaborate with multidisciplinary ERM teams across Canada and international offices to deliver high quality work. Liaise with key stakeholders, including clients, Federal, Provincial and Local Government representatives, Indigenous group representatives, and community organizations. Mentor junior staff by providing guidance on technical approaches, project execution, and consulting fundamentals. Lead proposal development, including crafting technical scopes, timelines, and cost estimates. Follow established health and safety protocols, and prepare and manage health and safety for field-based/community facing activities. When required, lead and monitor project management activities such as task delegation, subcontractor oversight, commercial performance tracking, health & safety management, quality reviews, and client interaction. For theManaging Consultant, Social Performance (Part‑time, Casual) position, theanticipatedhourly base pay is$46.63–$58.20(CAD). Actual pay will depend on factors such as education, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs. In some cases, pay may fall outside this range. This role may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees arenot bonuseligible).
