Job Description
Summary: Elliott-Lewis Corporation is a premier provider of Mechanical Services, Facilities Management, and Crane Rentals, seeking a summer intern for their in-house legal team. The Legal Intern will support the General Counsel with various legal matters, gaining practical experience in litigation management, claims processes, and employment law.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the General Counsel with day‑to‑day legal matters affecting the corporation
- Conduct legal research related to general liability claims, workers’ compensation claims, automobile insurance claims, and employment law matters
- Draft and review legal summaries, correspondence, and reports
- Help organize, review, and maintain case files, claim files, and legal documentation
- Track deadlines, assist with discovery materials, and coordinating with counsel and other representatives
- Analyze claim information and records to assist legal department in assessing risk and exposure
- Shadow meetings with attorneys, claims professionals, and other business stakeholders, as appropriate
- Perform other related legal and administrative tasks as assigned to support the legal department’s operations
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled at an accredited law school
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a professional environment
- Interest in corporate law, insurance, claims management, or employment law
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and Forms)
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
