Company Description
The Opportunity:
Elemental LED is a leading U.S. based engineering and technology company that creates, develops, manufactures, markets and sells innovative, configured and integrated LED lighting solutions. The Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada (EDAWN) has awarded Elemental LED as the "Company of the Year-Large" at the 7th Annual EDAWN Existing Awards event and "Employees First - Large" at the 10th Annual EDAWN Existing Industry Awards event.
If you are the type of lighting professional who loses sleep over perfect color rendering and flawless diffusion, we’ve got a seat for you. Come sling the industry’s best linear technology with Elemental LED and turn high-end specs into high-end paychecks ($70,000 base + bonus). We are looking for a relationship builder, a strategic thinker, and a local market expert who thrives on face-to-face interaction.
As our Specification Sales Representative, you will be the face of our brand across Chicagoland. You’ll partner closely with our Regional Sales Manager and agency networks (or representatives) to lock down major accounts, influence key decision-makers, and drive revenue growth.
If you have a background in lighting, smart building tech, or similar technical sales, and you know how to command a room (and a territory), we want to talk to you!
Job Description
What You’ll Do (The Day-to-Day)
- Cultivate and manage a robust pipeline of prospects by spending 80% of your time in the field building face-to-face relationships across Chicagoland.

- Stay ahead of industry trends, market intelligence, and economic activity to anticipate and solve evolving customer needs.
- Serve as a strategic bridge between the customer and our product development team to pitch customization requests and introduce new market opportunities.
- Balance your field time with organizational discipline by managing multiple projects, hitting critical deadlines, and maintaining an active log of your daily activities.
What You Bring to the Table
- Current residency in the Chicagoland area with a deep understanding of the local market landscape.
- Proven sales experience within the lighting industry or a closely related technical, engineering, or architectural field.
- Exceptional self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously with minimal daily oversight.
- Strong communication skills, allowing you to present comfortably to everyone from field technicians to executive-level leadership.
- Sound professional judgment, tact, and the capacity to handle complex business relationships with prudence.
- A dedicated, private home office space with a door and high-speed internet for your administrative focus time.
- Flexibility to travel to broader domestic locations outside of your core territory when required.
Why You’ll Love Working With Us
- True autonomy to run your territory like your own business and manage your own daily schedule.
- Strong corporate backing, with a dedicated internal team, a responsive product division, and supportive regional leadership.
- The opportunity to directly impact our regional footprint and influence future product development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant sales experience or equivalent combination of experience and training
