SUMMARY OF ROLE:
The Manager, Field Clinical will play a critical leadership role in optimizing and scaling Element Science’s commercial field execution by overseeing the performance, training, and development of the Field Clinical Representative and Patient Service Representative team. This individual will ensure exceptional, patient-centered care delivery, drive consistency in clinical excellence, and strengthen collaboration between clinical and commercial teams to improve patient outcomes and experience.
This role will lead a team responsible for direct patient fittings, education, and ongoing support, ensuring each patient interaction drives confidence, compliance, and successful therapy adoption.
As the leader of field clinical training and execution, this individual will evolve and maintain a high-performing, scalable field model focused on patient experience, operational efficiency, and commercial impact, ensuring alignment with DMEPOS standards and internal quality expectations. The ideal candidate has experience in patient care, people management, medical device commercial operations, cross-functional collaboration, and thrives in a growth-stage, performance-driven environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the hiring, training, onboarding, and ongoing competency development of Field Clinical Representatives (FCRs) and Patient Service Representatives (PSRs), ensuring excellence in patient fittings, education, and overall patient experience
- Own and evolve the field clinical playbook, including SOPs, training protocols, and best practices that drive consistent, high-quality patient interactions and outcomes across all territories
- Ensure FCRs and PSRs are fully equipped to deliver end-to-end patient support, including device fittings, patient education, expectation setting to maximize compliance and minimize early exits
- Partner closely with Sales leadership to align clinical execution with territory strategy, ensuring seamless coordination between Field Clinical Representatives, Patient Service Representatives, Associate Territory Managers and Territory Managers to drive patient starts and account success
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Customer Success, Clinical, and Regulatory teams to rapidly resolve patient issues and continuously improve the patient and provider experience
- Monitor and drive key performance metrics, including patient starts, patient experience, compliance (wear time), and early discontinuation drivers, and lead initiatives to improve outcomes
- Identify and remove field-level barriers impacting patient access, onboarding, and therapy success, implementing scalable solutions that improve both clinical and commercial performance
- Lead field clinical operations to ensure timely patient fittings, high-quality interactions, and strong support for prescribing HCPs
- Ensure adherence to all documentation, patient interaction, and data handling standards in compliance with HIPAA, and FDA requirements, while maintaining a strong culture of accountability
- Coach, mentor, and develop FCRs and PSRs, building a high-performance, patient-first culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional partnership
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- The employee will sit for long periods of time during travel.
- The employee will walk frequently within hospital facilities.
- The employee will be required to crouch, kneel, stoop, balance, and reach.
- The employee shall be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, near and far vision, and depth perception.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare, scientific, or clinical discipline; advanced degree or cardiovascular-specific training preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical device field clinical or field operations, including at least 1 year leading or managing field-based teams.
- Willingness to travel up to 75% to support field team operations, training programs, and clinical implementation across regional sites.
- Proven track record in developing and executing scalable field training programs in a regulated environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of following processes and procedures required for DME products and ensuring compliance to DME standards, especially as they relate to DME and patient support operations.
- Experience supporting Class III medical device launch-stage environment highly preferred.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with experience influencing teams across Engineering, Clinical, Regulatory, and Commercial functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM preferred; comfort working with training tools and field enablement platforms.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to clinical, technical, and executive audiences.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and lead through change with a patient-first mindset.

The salary for this exempt-level position will be based on experience and qualifications within an established pay range.
- Pay range: $120,000 - 140,000
