Farm Operations Intern

Summary: eGenesis is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing human-compatible engineered organs to tackle the global organ shortage. The Farm Operations Intern will assist in various farm activities, including operating large equipment, hay production, landscaping, and basic animal care of swine. Responsibilities: - Operation of large farm equipment such as skid loaders, tractors, manure management equipment, and hay equipment - Activities involving the above may include but are not limited to carcass management/composting, spreading solid and liquid manure, pasture and lawn mowing, and unloading deliveries - Interest in performing and/or learning preventative maintenance on equipment, animal facilities, and lab facilities, and repairs when needed - Responsible for landscaping and general grounds upkeep, i.e. operation of lawn mower, weedwhacker, leaf blower, and chainsaw - Participate in daily care of pigs at the animal facilities, including cleaning and upkeep of the facility - Follow safe work practices, correct unsafe acts and condition - Adhere to eGenesis biosecurity requirements Required Qualifications: - Working knowledge of farm equipment - 1+ years of experience in large animal care and handling - Proficiency in MS Office - Time management and the ability to prioritize work - Attention to detail and problem-solving - Excellent communication - Strong organization with the ability to multi-task - Knowledge of swine operations Required Skills: Farm equipment operation, Large animal care, handling, MS Office proficiency, Swine operations
