Job Description
Summary: EDF power solutions North America is a market-leading independent power producer and service provider specializing in clean energy solutions. The Origination Analyst intern will assist the Origination & Power Marketing team in creating financial models, conducting market analysis, and supporting the sourcing of renewable power transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the front-end structuring of offtake proposals to drive success with closing transactions
- Collaborate with colleagues to brainstorm and develop structures that meet EDFps’s financial metrics along with being competitive in the marketplace
- Lead research with internal and external tools to gain market intel for key initiatives
- Gather competitive intelligence and conduct competitive analysis of the Company’s projects
- Optimize/maximize for competitiveness internal models and analysis to support customer proposals
- Initiate and maintain internal models and analysis in collaboration with Origination & Power Marketing & Development
- Contribute to and monitor the storing of bid-related documents in centralized systems; i.e. Sharepoint, Teams, Price Trackers etc
- Actively use Salesforce.com-based CRM system to monitor account activity, run analysis on deal flow and customer pipeline, and ensure data quality
- Analyze and evaluate renewable energy market data and formulate customer pitch strategies
- Prepare PowerPoint presentations for customers
- From time to time, join colleagues on customer pitch calls and meetings
- Optimize/maximize for competitiveness internal models and analysis to support customer proposals
- Liaise with other internal groups to meet Origination & Power Marketing business goals
- Drive success with closing transaction by identifying highest potential off-takers with pipeline projects
- Collaborate with colleagues to run webmap tools identifying competitors and potential off-takers for highest tier off-takers
- Identify future renewable energy needs in the regions and assist in preparing the messaging to the other EDFps teams involved. The purpose is to help drive future development and expanding the pipeline
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in academic program for Bachelors degree in Business or related field
- Significant experience with using MS PowerPoint and Excel
- Proficiency in database management and spreadsheet applications
- Excellent oral, written and analytic skills
- Highly motivated self-starter, friendly personality, and good team player
- Extensive experience preparing presentations
- Driven self-starter and high degree of honesty and integrity
- Capacity and willingness to perform job duties under time pressure from external and internal deadlines
- Able to work well with geographically disperse, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple internal relationships simultaneously
- Candidate must be located in San Diego with ability to commute

- Undergraduate or Graduate Student
- Pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Business/Economics, Engineering
