Job Description
Senior Finance and Operations Leader, AI & Digital Finance (1-year Contract)
Location: MAS: MAS Building
[What the role is]
We are looking for a finance and operations leader to build and own the finance and operations function for a dedicated team driving Singapore's future of financial services development. Working at the intersection of AI and digital finance, you will play a central role in establishing the financial rigour and operational backbone of an initiative that will define Singapore's financial services landscape for years to come.
This is a role for someone who is both strategic and hands-on, comfortable with ambiguity, and deeply committed to building something that lasts. The person appointed will report to the Head of the initiative and will establish the Finance and Operations function from the ground up, assuming full ownership of it as the initiative grows and matures.
[What you will be working on]
You will lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting, while managing all audit, tax, accounting, and statutory compliance requirements for the initiative. You will partner closely with the leadership team to provide financial insights that inform strategic decision-making.
Operationally, you will establish the infrastructure that underpins our effectiveness, designing SOPs, governance frameworks, and risk management processes that span risk, data governance, outsourcing, and operational controls. You will oversee vendor relationships, procurement, and outsourcing arrangements, and lead business continuity planning, incident management, and operational readiness.
[What we are looking for]
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable setting strategic direction and rolling up their sleeves. You bring strong financial acumen and a keen eye for detail across financial controls, compliance, and reporting, and can engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. You are comfortable navigating the ambiguity that comes with building a new or managing a fast-growing organisation, and prior experience in a start-up or small team environment is highly valued.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should bring at least 10 to 15 years of experience in senior finance or operations roles. Experience in setting up finance and operations functions in a new or fast-growing organisation is a strong advantage. A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field is required, and a professional qualification such as CPA, CFA, MBA, or equivalent is highly valued. The candidate should bring a strong understanding of financial controls, governance, and scaling operations. Experience with fundraising, board reporting, and investor communications is advantageous.
Personal Attributes
You are a detail-oriented professional who brings rigour and discipline to everything you do without losing sight of the bigger picture. You are results-oriented and self-motivated, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment. You should communicate with clarity and confidence, and are trusted by leadership to provide sound financial and operational counsel. You should bring a mindset of continuous learning and improvement, and thrive in environments where you are given the space to build and shape.
This will be a 1-year contract. As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.
All applicants will be notified on whether they are shortlisted or not within 4 weeks of the closing date of this job posting.
