LECTURER, TOURISM & RESORT MGT - SCHOOL OF BUSINESS & ACCOUNTANCY
Location: Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Clementi Campus
[What the role is]
This is a 2-year contract position as a Lecturer, Tourism & Resort Management in the School of Business & Accountancy.
We are seeking dynamic and passionate individuals to join our academic team in Tourism & Resort Management. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the next generation of tourism and hospitality professionals, equipping students and adult learners with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to thrive in a dynamic and evolving tourism landscape.
[What you will be working on]
Develop and deliver curriculum (including online courses) and assessments for full-time and part-time courses for students and adult learners.
Supervise student projects and internships with industry partners.
Counsel and mentor students to support their learning and personal development, provide education and career guidance, and coach them for external engagements (including competitions).
Undertake academic-related administration and committee work, support outreach activities and study trips, and ad-hoc projects that support the school’s mission.
Leverage industry network to facilitate industry-in-curriculum through learning journeys, student projects, internship placements, module development, staff consultancy projects, etc.
[What we are looking for]
A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the tourism and hospitality industry.
An agile team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated project management skills and keen attention to detail.
Familiarity with new technologies used in the tourism and hospitality industry (e.g. agentic AI, data analytics, digital marketing, etc.) and emerging areas including sustainable destination management and placemaking.
A track record in identifying and mounting upskilling programmes for the tourism industry with an extensive network of industry partners will be favourably considered.
Previous experience working with youths in the areas of coaching, mentoring and youth development will be an advantage.
Candidates should have relevant work experience in the tourism and hospitality sector (e.g. airlines, attractions, cruise, hospitality, leisure events, MICE, online travel agencies, tours & travel, etc.) and be conversant in the following areas:
Service Experience Design and Innovation
Tourism Marketing and Communications
Research and Data Storytelling
