Job Description
Summary: Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, part of Danaher Corporation, is a global leader in clinical diagnostics dedicated to improving patient health. The Field Service Engineer role involves providing customer service, installing and maintaining diagnostic instrumentation, and resolving technical issues to support healthcare clients.
Responsibilities:
- Under minimal supervision, serve as lead to assigned customers; complete troubleshooting, installation, validation, maintenance, and service repair needs on designated equipment. May assist and/or train newer Field Engineers
- Keep up to date on administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records in a timely manner, ordering repair parts, and adhering to cycle times
- Focus on customer needs and satisfaction, while building on and enhancing the relationship with the customer to ultimately become a perceived partner in their business
Required Qualifications:
- Associates degree OR military experience with at least 1 year diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment (as field service engineer, biomedical engineer or similar)
- This position requires travel up to 20%, which may potentially include overnight stays, within the Northern Alabama region
- Hold a current valid driver's license and good driving record over last three years
- Willing to work different shifts as business needs and ability to travel and provide service in assigned geography, as well as periodic travel to other regions or for training
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience collaborating with internal team members and external customers
