AI / Data Science Intern

Summary: Custom Manufacturing & Engineering (CME) is seeking an AI / Data Science Intern to support the development and implementation of a production scanning and OCR system. This role will work on real-world machine learning applications tied directly to manufacturing operations, helping improve automation and data accuracy. Responsibilities: - Assist in testing and validating OCR and machine learning outputs - Clean, organize, and label datasets to improve model performance - Support development of automated workflows within production processes - Analyze system performance and recommend improvements - Collaborate with engineering and operations teams Required Qualifications: - Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, or related field - Familiarity with Python or similar programming language - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university - Pursuing a degree in a relevant field - Strong communication and teamwork skills - CME positions require access to controlled goods under ITAR/EAR regulations; applicants must be 'U.S. Persons' as defined by these regulations - Compliance with U.S. federal law requires verification of identity and work eligibility; CME cannot employ individuals who do not meet these criteria, including those on student or temporary work visas - Completion of Predictive Index Assessments Preferred Qualifications: - Exposure to machine learning concepts or tools preferred Required Skills: Python, Machine Learning, Data Cleaning, Data Labeling Benefits: 4/10's work schedule
