Job Description
Summary: Cornerstone Residential is a comprehensive property management company committed to providing exceptional service while maximizing revenue for our partners. The Compliance Specialist is responsible for processing Affordable Housing rental applications, maintaining resident files, and ensuring the timely completion of Tax Credit certifications.
Responsibilities:
- Processing Affordable Housing rental applications for initial move-in(s) and preparing move-in documents
- Maintain and set up resident files with proper paperwork and supporting documentation
- Process and submits all Tax Credit annual income re-certifications (A/Rs) and all new move-in files on time
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of Tax Credit annual recertifications and move-ins
- Verify income/rental history/assets for all applicants and residents
- Schedules Move-In and Recertification appointments daily
- Process and post annual recertification notices timely
- Ability to organize, establish priorities for work and coordinate multiple deadlines
- Maintain neat, organized files, storage, and workspace
- Ensures regular and predictable attendance
- Perform other duties and assignments as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High school Diploma or GED
- HUD and Tax Credit Section 42 experience required
- Compliance experience processing LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) paperwork
- Proven experience with other affordable housing programs such as HUD, Section 8
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively with others--employees, properties, supervisors, etc
- Reliable transportation, maintained auto insurance and valid driver's license
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Must be able to pass background and drug screen
Preferred Qualifications:
- COS or TCS Preferred
