Who You’ll Work With
As part of Legal, Compliance & Regulatory, the Corporate Legal Team provides leadership and advice on technology, cybersecurity, resiliency, data / AI, privacy and third party governance, risk management and regulatory compliance across Corebridge’s business units and corporate functions. We work collaboratively with each other and with our LCR colleagues and functional and business partners to continuously improve, solve problems and achieve company objectives in an effective, efficient, and pragmatic manner. We are the primary legal counsel to Corebridge’s Chief Information Officer, Chief Information Security Officer, and Chief Operating Officer and their teams including the Chief Technology Officer, Information Security Office, Data Office, Enterprise Resiliency and Procurement & Sourcing.
About The Role
As an Associate General Counsel in the Corporate Legal Team, you will have the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging and relevant issues at the intersection of financial services, information technology, data and innovation. We are an energetic and business-oriented legal team that works on a wide range of regulatory, compliance, risk management, transactional and corporate governance matters. We leverage our expertise in corporate technology and data use to provide our business and functional partners strategic and tactical advice on legal risks and regulatory requirements for technology, cybersecurity, resiliency, privacy, data and AI.
Responsibilities
Monitoring, analyzing and advocating on developing laws and regulations and participating in internal forums and with trade associations to provide input on impacts and represent company positions
Designing and providing oversight and escalation support for governance and compliance programs, including maintaining internal policies and procedures and supporting regulatory filings and exams, securities disclosures, investigations and audits.
Advising on and managing legal responses to operational, cybersecurity and privacy events and incidents and maintaining incident response plans and procedures
Collaborating with members of the Information Security Office and Information Technology departments to advise on legal and regulatory requirements, issues and risk management
Working closely with transactional attorneys, business partners and procurement professionals to update and maintain contract templates and playbooks; handle escalations from transactional teams in support of vendor agreements, B2B client RFPs / agreements and other contractual relationships
Providing thought leadership on emerging issues and educating Corebridge personnel by developing and undertaking training on important topics

Skills and Qualifications
Demonstrated commitment to this area of law and able to independently identify opportunities and drive improvements in line with industry standards and best practices
Strong interpersonal skills and able to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels and in non-legal roles
Project management and organizational skills to effectively prioritize support, anticipate obstacles and handle multiple projects and deadlines
8+ years of experience practicing law, preferably a combination of large law firm and in house roles in relevant practice areas and with experience advising publicly traded companies in financial services or other highly regulated industries
A J.D. degree from an accredited law school and an active and in good standing bar membership in the state of the hiring location
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $180,000 to $238,000 at the commencement of employment. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications.
In addition, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus and company equity in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

Work Location
This position can be based in any of Corebridge Financial’s three main hub offices, which are located in Woodland Hills-CA, Houston-TX or Jersey City-NJ and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely. Exceptional candidates located near non hub locations may be considered.

This role is deemed a “covered associate” under SEC Rule 206(4)-5, 17 CFR § 275.206(4)-5, Political contributions by certain investment advisers, and other federal and state pay-to-play rules.
