Job Description
Summary: Concord is the world’s leading independent music company, and they are seeking law students for paid summer internships in their Business & Legal Affairs Department. Interns will assist with various legal matters, including mergers and acquisitions, contract reviews, and legal research while receiving mentorship and support.
Responsibilities:
- Shadow and assist with mergers and acquisitions
- Assist with frontline artist, writer, and author signings
- Review contracts and other legal documents, prepare summaries, and assist with contract administration
- Assist with corporate law matters related to Concord’s business
- Assist with registration, maintenance, and enforcement of Concord’s trademark portfolio
- Assist with enforcing Concord’s rights in connection with infringements
- Assist with tasks related to ongoing litigation
- Provide support to Concord’s business divisions through legal research and writing
Required Qualifications:
- 1L or 2L student at an ABA approved law school
- Passion for music business
- Law school GPA of 3.0 or above
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent legal research and writing skills
- Good judgment and ability to prioritize tasks
- Attention to detail and strong follow-up skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Some exposure to intellectual property law and/or copyright law
- Tech savvy with experience using Microsoft Office (specifically Office 365, including Outlook, Word, and Excel)
- This internship is a full-time paid internship and requires someone legally authorized to work in the United States and located in/near Nashville, Tennessee
- The timeline of this internship program runs from Tuesday, June 2nd – Friday, August 14th, and you must be able to work 40 hours/week
