About Us
CLGW is a community-based not-for-profit organization supporting more than 900 adults with developmental disabilities across Guelph and Wellington County. We support people to live, work, and participate fully in their communities—and we do it together, with compassion and respect.
Your Impact as a Direct Support Professional
As a Direct Support Professional, you’ll play a vital role in someone’s everyday life. You’ll be a trusted support, advocate, and ally—helping individuals build independence, pursue their goals, and experience a sense of belonging.
You will support adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities, who may also experience emotional or mental health challenges.
What You’ll Do

Promote inclusion, independence, and self-determination
-
Support individuals to identify and achieve personal goals and dreams
-
Assist with daily living activities, including:
-
Cooking and cleaning
-
Medication administration
-
Personal care
-
Lifts and transfers when required
-
Standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods
-

Work collaboratively with teams, families, and community partners
-
Complete documentation accurately and on time
What You Bring
Required:
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Comfort using computers and Microsoft Office
-
Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License
Assets (Nice to Have):
-
Developmental Services diploma or a related post-secondary degree
-
Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities
-
First Aid & CPR certification
-
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
-
Medication administration experience
-
Experience with behavioural supports, autism, dual diagnosis, or mental health
