Job Description
Summary: Community Legal Services, Inc. of Philadelphia is a non-profit public interest agency providing free civil legal services to low-income Philadelphia residents. They are seeking a part-time Accounting Clerk to join their Finance Department, responsible for processing payments and supporting various clerical tasks within the team.
Responsibilities:
- Support reviewing A/P requests to ensure proper approvals
- Reinforce processing payment requests through accounting software
- Help prepare the positive pay report to confirm that checks have been completed
- Collect, organize, and distribute Finance department mail on a daily basis
- Backing A/R by scanning and filing documents, preparing deposits and bank visits
- Help prepare schedules that support financial audits
- Support all Finance Department personnel with clerical tasks
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of experience in an accounting or finance-related position
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Familiarity with accounting software
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Must be highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage and make progress on multiple projects simultaneously
- Familiar with GAAP
Preferred Qualifications:
- Non-profit experience
- Previous experience with Accounting SAGE and MIP software
- Experience with SAP Concur Solutions
